—Over this last year, we have witnessed the evolution of a new artistic community.
In starting SWAMPING, our one hope was to unite the gems we found to create a support system; A positive community aimed to inspire experimentalism and new self-challenges in the individual artistic path. We hoped for collaboration between brillant minds. We hoped to blur the lines between audience and artist, and create a dialogue.
We have seen organizations, record labels, zines, and other communities begin to thrive with a constant exchange of inspiration. Amazing artists who never dreamed of putting themselves out there, have stepped out and presented themselves. New ideas are constantly brewing, and new projects and collaborations seem to emerge on a weekly basis. There is a sense of balance between creating higher artistic standards and an inclusive community.
We are truly honored to be a small part of this DIT community. Thank you to all the visual artists, comedians, performers, writers, musicians, and photographers who have come together and created.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting and inspiring us. We are so glad to call this place ‘home’.
